Pedestrian Access Changes from Madison to Jackson
Madison to Monroe Crews will be pouring Latex for the deck between Madison and Monroe tomorrow morning. As part of the pour, the temporary pedestrian crossing north of Monroe will be removed today at 7 p.m. Pedestrians can cross at Madison and use the Wacker sidewalks south of Madison. Once the pour is completed, the deck will need to cure and pedestrian access will be restricted on Wacker between Madison and Monroe. East-West travel on Madison will be permitted, but no pedestrians will be allowed to travel south on Wacker on either of the sidewalks between Madison and Monroe. This …

Traffic Tip: Use Randolph
The Madison intersection reconstruction has resulted in congestion and delays on Lake and Adams. Please help to alleviate congestion by also using Randolph as a detour. Recent travel times on Adams from Michigan to the Kennedy averaged at about 20 minutes, meanwhile time spent on Randolph from Michigan to the Kennedy averaged at about five minutes.
Pedestrian Access Change
Randolph at Wacker will be open to thru traffic this afternoon. In addition to the Randolph opening, pedestrian routes have been altered to ensure easier and more efficient travel near the construction zone. Please see the map below for the current pedestrian access plan as of May 27, 2011.
Randolph Street to Reopen at Wacker Drive
Randolph Street at Wacker Drive will reopen to traffic Friday afternoon May 27, as crews near completion of the first Wacker intersection to be reconstructed. Prior to the afternoon rush hour, two westbound lanes of Randolph will reopen. The lanes were closed in early January at the start of the Wacker Drive reconstruction from Randolph to Van Buren. Wacker will remain closed at Randolph until mid-summer. Washington also remains closed. The north sidewalk of Randolph remains open. The Randolph intersection is the first of seven to be rebuilt.
