Deck pours will alter pedestrian access routes from Madison to Jackson, Wednesday, May 16 to Tuesday, May 22. Please see the Updates page for details.

JACKSON TO VAN BUREN CLOSURE
The construction schedule has been adjusted to ensure the project’s completion by the end of the year.

As part of this adjustment, the midblock between Jackson and Van Buren is closed, while intersections at Jackson and Van Buren remain open to thru traffic. Please see Traffic Impacts for more details.

CONSTRUCTION AT MONROE, ADAMS
Construction of the Madison intersection is complete and moved Monday, Jan. 9 to the Monroe and Adams intersections. During this phase, Monroe and Adams at Wacker will be closed, with Madison now open to all traffic.

CTA BUS RE-ROUTES
Several CTA bus routes have changed for the Monroe and Adams reconstruction to improve traffic flow and safety. Visit transitchicago.com/wacker for temporary bus re-routes.

ABOUT
The City of Chicago is rebuilding the North-South leg of Wacker Drive from Randolph to Congress. Revive Wacker Drive, Part 2 will modernize the upper and lower levels of Wacker Drive by creating safer, more efficient roadways for motorists and pedestrians. A new interchange at Congress will also be built, complete with safer exit and entrance ramps and a spacious, three-acre park.


Revive Wacker Drive has three components

  • Congress Interchange reconstruction - June 2010 to summer 2012
  • Randolph to Monroe reconstruction - January 2011 to December 2011
  • Monroe to Van Buren reconstruction - January 2012 to December 2012
